SO SÁNH NHẤT (Superlative)

• So sánh nhất được dùng ta so sánh từ BA đối tượng trở lên.

He worked the hardest in this company. [Trong công ty này, anh ấy làm việc chăm chỉ nhất]
My bedroom is the biggest room in my house. [Phòng ngủ của tôi là phòng lớn nhất trong nhà.]

Quy tắc so sánh nhất

1.     Tính từ ngắn [short adjectives]: THE + ADJ thêm đuôi ‘-EST’

Hard                        the hardest               khó nhất, vất vả nhất
Long                        the longest               dài nhất
Short                       the shortest              ngắn nhất
Hot                           the hottest                nóng nhất                         nhân đôi phụ âm ‘t’
Big                            the biggest               to nhất                               nhân đôi phụ âm ‘g’
Easy                         the easiest                dễ nhất                             ‘-y’ phải đổi thành ‘-iest’
Lucky                      the luckiest               may mắn nhất                 ‘-y’ phải đổi thành ‘-iest’
Narrow                   the narrowest           hẹp nhất
Clever                     the cleverest            khéo léo nhất

Ví dụ
Tom is the tallest student in his class. [Tom cao nhất trong lớp.]
The Amazon River is the longest river in the world. [Amazon là con sông dài nhất thế giới.]
Today we have the easiest homework. [Hôm nay chúng ta có bài tập dễ nhất.]

2.     Tính từ dài [long adjectives]: THE MOST + ADJ

Peaceful                  the most peaceful                  yên bình nhất
Nervous                  the most  nervous                   căng thẳng nhất
Comfortable          the most  comfortable           thoải mái nhất
Difficult                   the most difficult                      khó nhất
Intelligent               the most  intelligent                 thông minh nhất

Ví dụ

This bed is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on .
[Đây là cái giường thoải mái nhất mà tôi từng nằm lên.]

She is the most intelligent in the class.
[Cô ấy thông minh nhất trong lớp.]

This is the most interesting film I’ve seen.
[Đây là bộ phim hay nhất tôi từng được xem.]
